Thinking of Voting Rick Perry?

on Thursday, October 28, 2010

I know that there is a wide anti-sentiment against the Democratic Party in 2010. There is a great move to lump Democrats with the President, Pelosi, and Reid. But, when you go to the polls.. I want you to search your heart and think about Rick Perry. He has been our governor for nearly 12 years. 12 years! And what has happened under his watch?

--A border that is not protected.
Millions of Illegal immigrants cross into our border each day, and there is great esculating violence on our border.Rick Perry has denied the funds to get National Guard troops on our border, yet blames the Federal Government for not helping us out.

--A mandate to vaccinate young girls against HPV.
Pro Life groups and Pro Choice groups unite against this one. Why in the world would Perry issue an executive order for girls to be vaccinated against HPV? Well it's simple really, he's in bed with the Pharmacy companies-- he would get money from them if he pushed this through. What a creep... He issued a mandate that went against Women's rights so he could receive money? This is probably the most unethical thing he has done.

--Education is hitting new lows in the country.
Rick Perry has turned down funds from the government yet again, to jump start our schools. Texas has hit as the HIGHEST state of high school droup outs. the 4th in highest Teen Pregnancies (lack of Sexual Education) and the Texas School Board has rewritten text books to fit their ideological agenda. I am sorry, but Education is NOT about ideology it's about teaching children, to be the best they can be. School Districts are underfunded, and the standarized testing that was enacted by George W. Bush and followed religiously by Perry has made a mockery of Education and Teachers. It has RUINED our education system in America.

--He has spouted off crazy ideas of succession from the Union.
He has on several occasions talked about suceeding from the Union. He has bent towards Radical Rightism, when he himself is a Corporate Republican FOR financial, and political gain.

-- He DOESN'T WORK.
He only works eight-tweleve hours a week in the capital.

--He has became a millionare on our tax dollars.

So, when you cast your ballot think on these things... and I hope you realize that pushing the Republican button does not always mean the right thing to do. (no pun intended)

Let's give Bill White a chance, he is a good Independent Democrat that has great ideas, He is not Barack Obama.

Why Libertarianism will hurt our country.

on Tuesday, September 14, 2010

A couple of years ago, Libertarians weren't even on the national scene. Some two bit Third Party that didn't have any clout, or even win elections. Now the national stage has been set by media personalities like Glenn Beck, and Texas Congressman, Ron Paul. Now Libertarianism is becoming the main rallying and battle cry of the Republican party.

To true Libertarian defense, I have 50000 times the more respect for them than the Republican Partry. At least the Libertarian Party has the guts to lay out a platform that isn't engulfed with Special Interests and Corporate boo-ha. If any were the case, we'd have a few Libertarians in the senate and the house. So the Libertarian Party is not what I am going to discuss.

Most people don't even know Libertarianism is. By definition Libertarianism claims that there should be a complete free market, a complete competitive health care system, and basically miminal laws. Because people are free to make there own choices.

Like Communism, Libertarianism offers a pie in the sky approach towards to government. Just like Communism there are things inhertently wrong with it's philosophy.

Hypothetically...

Imagine a world governed by Libertarianism. Imagine a world where there are no regulations on banks. No regulations on Insurance Companies. No Regulations on the Real Estate Market.... etc... That would be great right?

Wrong.

Libertarianism doesn't work because people are not credible to make wise choices. Look at the Wall Street Crisis, Our Housing Market Crisis...all of result in deregulation. And Libertarianism wants to do away with all regulations.

No Taxes...Everyone keeps what they owe? Good Idea. Wrong.

Libertarians seem to forget the social services that are being advanced in this country are fueled by Progressives. Without Taxes, I don't think it would be possible for a person like me to go to school... or most anyone. Without Pell Grants, and Federal Student Loans-- I wouldn't be able to go to school.

Without Taxes, a lot of people would be starving... The Life Expectancy rate plummeting as the Elderly have no way to pay for Medical Coverage.

And without a minimum wage in place, a business could pay an employee whatever it wanted to pay. And trust me, a lot of businesses will cut on how much they have to pay there employees because, it would cut on costs (especially in a recession.)

The gap between the very rich and the very poor would grow fast.

And that's just economics.

Without regulations, the FCC would be out of business. That means, it could be like Europe where there is hardcore pornography on daytime TV. Trust me, I flipped through the stations on the TV in the Czech Republic. No accountability for any actions.

Law Enforcement? An extreme Libertarian would not even believe in them, since "enfringing on someones moral character" is a broad statement.

So we will see crime, RAPANT CRIME... so much crime, that no one would want to go out at night.

You want to turn to a Libertarian society?

It kind of sounds like it would send America to the stone ages.

I am not advocating Communism or Socialism. But there is a coined word for Libertarianism, it's called umm..."Anarchy."

If you listen to Glenn Beck for three seconds, you will see that he is on the road to endorsing a society that is governed by no rules or regulations. No government, at all.

He claims that the American people are good and smart enough to govern themselves.

They aren't.

If we go down a path of Libertarianism our country will fall apart.

So what do we do?

Our country has to have a mix of both philosophies. Yes, we encourage the free will of America and give them the opprotunity to succeed. But we also provide a way to better yourself for an education and make sure you have good health care. So the only solution is that someone has to pay for it.

When you give limitless opprotunities for the very rich of the rich to be "richer" the only ones that will be hurting are the middle and lower classes. I am talking about turning our economy back to where it was in the Clinton years, where we had a SURPLUS. Republicans have churned out deficits every time they are in office. And they want to do it again! Only this time on steroids.

There also this erroneous belief that the Center, Center-Left and Left don't love our country. For those that believe that, you are mistaken. Anytime I hear the Star Spangled Banner, or see our flag-- I am moved with emotions for our country. We love our country a whole lot... we love it so much we don't want to see madmen take hold of it.

Obama heralds the end of Combat Troops in Iraq

on Tuesday, August 31, 2010

Looking back upon most of my childhood-teen years-adult years it has been occupied with a conflict with the Iraqi Government. I don't remember too much about Operation Desert Storm, hey I was only 7. But I do remember this feeling that after that we declared that we had defeated Iraq in a matter of days, that war was a thing of the past. And from that moment on, we had a growing suspicion of Saddam Hussein.

And then came 9/11. Initially, we did not know who attacked us. But most people did believe that it had to be Iraq. Some connection had to be made between 9/11 and Saddam Hussein. President George W. Bush made that claim, and then he attacked Iraq in 2003. I was a senior in high school. I had thought, that the United States would topple Saddam a government would be set up it would work-- and then we'd be out in 6 months. That's what Bush said.

It was far from the truth...an age of innocence, an age of Isolationism was over. The War had unparalleled consequences that none of the public foresaw. Sectarian violence, Extreme Civilian Casualties and Loss of American life. Nearly 5,000 had shed their blood on Iraqi soil. There was a growing despair and growing resentment towards the reasoning of war.

After all, our reasons for going to war were to topple his regime because he had weapons of mass destruction. Soon to find out, there were no weapons of mass destruction. The People felt violated, we had lost confidence in our leader. George W. Bush's presidency was defined by Tactical and Misinformation by the Iraq War.

And then came the campaign. The Young Barack Obama, who had opposed the war from the beginning caught the eye of the youth and won the election.

And in a great sense of irony, the greatest opposition to the War, has been in charge of it for nearly 2 years...as it continues to wind down. And in the end, Obama looks much like Bush and praising him for his patriotism and his leadership during the years of the Iraq war. (double take.)

In a story that has defined our country for a decade, I can't help but think of where I stand now. Where all of us stand now.

I remember about 4 years ago, stating, "We will never win in Iraq, We should go home." and when Bush announced the surge I said, "That will never work."

Let me say, I was wrong.

I don't know if our rationale of going to war was right. I am still torn to the thought process of what would happen if we never had invaded. Did Saddam have WMDs? There are mysteries that we will never know--they will become pages of history and speculation that will fill history books and evening specials. But what I do know, is the world is a better place without Saddam Hussein. What I do know is that, a Democracy cradled in the Middle East that has a thriving economy, that does right--will transform the area. Only time will tell, the story isn't over.

But moreover, I believe that we cannot forget the sacrifice and the pain that our braved service men went through. I think it would be a disgrace if we remembered this war as a war that had no cause or meaning.

The work on the war on Terror will last for years and years to come. Afghanistan will remain to be a harder battle to wage. But just as we rise above our own problems, we will rise above the problems of Afghanistan.

So at the end of this short history and writing I want to say thank you. Thank you to the servicemen who defended freedom, Thank you to Former President George W. Bush, and thank you to President Barack Obama for ending our combat missions and bringing a responsible end to Iraq, just as you promised.

May we learn from History, and never repeat it again.

Mr. Beck, I'd agree with you--but...

on Saturday, August 28, 2010

Glenn Beck tried to bring an emotional stirring speech bringing people to God on the Lincoln Memorial today. And I do agree with Mr. Beck's statements of not hating people only if he hadn't spent years of spewing a projectile of hate word vomit for 7 hours day. You cannot just go on the stage and act like a Moses figure, and expect a rational person to agree with you. 300,000 maybe-- but this country is made up 311 million people. And in the grand scheme of things a rally of 300,000 is hardly a drop in the bucket- and not a spiritual awakening, and definitely not a historical awakening.

Do I think Beck is not sincere? Well, I think he would have to spend months--if not years of apology, refudiating his claims, and changing his program. All of which will not be done. This man attacked the President of the United States in borderline treason language, attacked his family, Claimed that he hates 9/11 and Katrina Victims and all of the sudden he is the "Messiah"? Give me a break.

Now the content of his speech... Yes, we need to turn to God. Our country has been in darkness, a long time... but he is not the person to deliver this message. You know who should deliver that message?

Barack Obama.

Our leader, Our President needs to humble himself before the American people and the American public and say we need to turn back to our basic roots. But even he won't.

You know why? Because he is a politician. He cares about his reputation about as much as Glenn Beck does.

So who will take the torch and restore this nation to greatness?

First of all, we need to see that our country is deeply divided. We are going through some tough times, and in tough times it's hard to see the light. But our dream is not gone, and our generation can stand and bring through the American Dream and restore our honor.

It's not a media personality or politician that will restore our country. It is collectively the American People.

We learned in 2008, that "Yes We Can" is not good enough. We need to adopt the phrase, "Yes we Are". We are going to restore our honor, and bring justice to the poor, we are going to restore our honor to our government, and to our cities and communities. But it is going to take us to really break down the walls, and work together staring with us, and up to our congress.

Media blowhards and politicians like our President can deliver speeches- but only we can deliver change.

God Bless America.

Dave

As "President" I propose....

on Saturday, July 17, 2010

Dear Fellow Americans,

I want to thank you for reading this essay of proposals I put before the American People. For 8 years, and now another 2 years- we have been through a real ringer have we? We have been dominated by two political parties, that have produced rampant amounts of corruption, have spent our children's future, have ignored the voice of the people- and have not apologized for there actions. As an American, I can understand the outrage of all the people of our great country. America has always been a place where ideas and dreams flourish. We have seen an assault of the American dream for a long time now. But we cannot allow our dreams to be assaulted any longer. It's easy to point fingers, but we can see that the major cause of our problems, is indeed, our own.

America has became a society of consumerism. And although the dream and the products that makes America great, and although most of these products have put our nation on the map- We as Americans have lost the real cause for our consumerism. The United States of America, is growing. With every year, our economy and technology stretches to where we cannot handle our own growth. In the past, these growths have caused depressions and glitches in our economy. In the past, when these things have happened- we have risen to the challenge and conquered our demons. Today, we face a new divide, a new nation and we have two roads we can go down.

One road is inaction. Stay on the same path that we have been on, for a long time now. And some pundits, believe that this is the best route. The problem with that being is, that we know inaction is not an answer. We can't simply not do anything about our economy, health care, education, and energy. Inaction simply means we are going to keep losing. These pundits believe in a total free market-- and although individualism, needs to be in our spirit- our country cannot just have a complete free market with it's size and scope in the world.

Another road is total government intervention. This road is about dangerous or more dangerous than inaction. If government is the only answer, than we would be far better off right now, right? The main truth is we cannot economically afford to keep bailing out, keep taking out loans, and pile debt upon our children. Surely, by raising taxes and leveling the tax field will only leave the Americans broke and far worse off than we would be- have we simply not done anything.

Now that we understand where we are at. The question is what do we do about it?

First of all, let me address one of our greatest problems. As President, I will the first year of my term outlaw special interests and lobbyists from giving money to congressmen and controlling our political system. The congressmen and the politicians that accept money from them- will be fined. The lobbyists tenure of power is now, done. Campaign finance reform will be first on my agenda. Politicians will raise money from the people. Everyone will have the opportunity to serve the people.Campaign Finance Reform is the top on agenda, because without a clean and honest government we do not have the chance to represent the people or conquer our challenges. I promise to urge congress to make this the law of the land. We need to be more accountable to those that elect us.

Because of impure interests, we have spawned other problems that face our country. One of this being the concept of how Americans use and create our energy. For more than 30 years, we have claimed that we need to move to energy independence from foreign oil. I declare, that it's not enough to claim energy independence from foreign oil. But we need to move from dependency on all forms of petrol and impure energy forms that are plaguing our pocket book, our environment, and our foreign relationships. Let it be known, that the United States of the America are going to lead the world in a new era of energy powered by the sun, alternative oil sources, hyrdo, wind, and other clean fossil fuels. I will start a committee of the greatest scientists, businessmen, and experts in this area. I will oversee this new committee headed by my Energy Secretary in seeing that in 10 years, that our dependence on any oil is at a minimum. We are going to create a new economy fostered by this search for new energy. Thousands of Jobs will be created at many levels. Oil Companies that wish to follow the fight, will recieve tax credits to do so. We are not against the Oil Companies Employees. We recognize that this is a great chunk of our economy. But it has to be the Oil Corporations that choose to follow our call for new clean renewable energy. Those Oil Companies that do not live up to the standards set by our administration will have to pay a tax. It's quite simple really, those that join us-- recieve a tax cut- those that do not- have to fund their own expenditures. I also am going to urge this committee in 2 years to unveil a new fuel that can be used in most vehicles- if two men can drive across the country using Fast Food Fry Oil, surely the top scientists in the land can create a fuel that will supply the cars with clean fuel. Personal Responsibility will also be extended to both individuals and businesses that live up to "Green Codes" if businesses use less paper, burn less fuel, and invest in solar and wind energies they will be given tax credits. Those that do not, will not be given these credits. And in ten years, if their consumption does not change they will be taxed for their consumption. We are going to give all of the country ample time to follow these "Green Codes". Let me make it clear, Green Codes are not the law of the land. They are a free incentive by the United States Government to reward those that partner with our agencies to produce a cleaner America. The Energy Consumption Tax, will be enacted in ten years.

Personal Responsibility and Rewards for doing the right thing is going to translate in every area of life. So this will be the case in Health Care. The battle for Health Reform, has left many losers. We can surely believe that Health Care is a very sensitive topic. For those that have Employer Health Insurance, and are Satisfied with their Health Providers- they can keep their plans. For those that do not have it-- we will enact a tract for you to get it. I will institute the Right Choices Act- as soon as I can. In one year, Adults that mantain a healthy diet and exercise and have a doctor's note proving there fine upstanding health will be given health insurance of their choosing. They can choose what kind of Health Care they choose to have out of a pool of providers. It will be plain as day, as what will be provided. For those that have other medical conditions and/or cannot afford the health care they will be eligible for Medicaid. For schools and businesses that encourage healthy lifestyles for their students and employees they will be given tax credits that must be used for betterment of them. I also will institute a Fast Food Tax for those that serve fast food. All Food must be regularly inspected to make sure that we are providing good food for our children and ourselves. If you choose to eat a Big Mac, you will be paying more for it. Obesity is one of our greatest problems. We will encourage schools, and businesses to give people clear cut choices. Once again, it's all about Personal Responsbility the government will serve you if you choose to be healthy. Those that do not remain healthy, and choose to deliberately destroy their bodies-- will live as they choose...No Health Insurance. I also propose that charity organizations, churches, mosques and synagouges who want to help donate medical costs to the poor and to those that simply cannot afford it-- will be given vouchers by our government to help those in need. We will be closer and closer to acheiving the goal to Universal Health Care for All Americans.

But what about those that aren't Americans? That wish to become Americans? I plan on tackling immigration reform as well. But before we tackle immigration reform, we are going to crack down on illegal immigration. Illegal immigration threatens our communities, and it is gives an open window for Al Qaeda to exploit and strike us to where we are most vunerable. This year, we are cracking down on border security. We are going to be extremely vigilant in the flow of drugs and illegal immigrants from our country. One thing we will do, to counter illegal immigration is to document all our citizens with a National ID card. Every Citizen already should have a social security card. These National ID cards will be hard to duplicate they will be top knotch cards, that will help us track immigrants and citizens as well, as crack down on idenity theft. Every Immigrant must have a similar card to stay in the country for more than 6 months. They must register with the embassy of the United States. Every immigrant that wishes to stay for more than 6 months, will either have to make a move towards citizenship or express an intent to declare citizenship or will have to go home. Those that do not go home, will be deported. We are in a new age of security and I promise to secure our borders, but also create a path to citizenship that will be much easier than before.

There will be many more things that I believe will make our country great. And I intend to work to find the answers. I do not pretend to have the answers, and I will most likely fail you in some way in the next four years or eight years--or however long you have me. But you have my word, that I will work for you. That I will have your best interests at heart.

Our country will undoubtedly change many times, but one thing that will not change is our spirit. We are still the greatest country on earth, by being simply...American. I ask that just as John F. Kennedy opened a new golden age of America by declaring we would go to the moon. That we will reach within ourselves to go to the moon again, and reach our greatest potential as a country.

And as always God Bless us and God Bless America,

David Huckabee

*I am not really running for President, but I will vote for someone who is close to these viewpoints.*

Ode to Obama, Obama....and the Tea Party

on Tuesday, July 13, 2010

Today Harry Reid said our President was not confrontational to the Republicans in Congress. And although, I think that is the lowest thing to do--considering this weak leader had a clear majority and could not get health care to pass the way it was intended to pass... I think he has a point.

Barack Obama is a gifted speaker, a gifted politician, and I believe he has the countries best issues at heart. However, this man- after 2 years has not proved to me to be a strong leader. It's like we went from one opposite end of the spectrum to the other.

What most people don't get unless you are living where I am (Hard Core Conservative USA) or San Francisco (Hard Core Liberal USA) most of the country is in between. When Bush played the Hard Core Conservative (Which he was not.) or when Obama plays the Hard Core Liberal-- the Independent voice- the middle road of America feels alienated.

Barack Obama is not strong enough. And it takes great pride for me to swallow to say, we have been a duped by a politician who promised to bring down special interests-- and he has turned out to look a lot like Mr. 43rd President. Still in Iraq, Spending our children's future, Economy tanking....

Now unlike most Americans, I am not stupid enough to place the blame on one man. To me that's the most ridiculous thing you can do. It is truly the most uneducated that blame one person.

The condition of America was on the decline, long before Barack Obama took the oath of office. He had the power to do some real things-- Spend a year on the economy, Move forward on Clean Energy- and create more jobs. Stop Special Interests from making the say on what happens in Congress, Secure our borders and make a sweeping immigration bill. But what Barack Obama decided to do was to spend a year on a bill that most Americans did not want passed. Oh they wanted something done about Health Care--but it was not the foremost thing on the agenda.

The thing the President is guilty of-- is not putting the bandages on the things that meant the most to Americans. His approval ratings would be higher, A new radical right movement wouldn't have been so pronounced... and he could have had a chance to become a great President.

The time is ticking for Obama to pick up the baton and do what he needs to do.

In November, Incumbents will be punished. It's going to be a bloodbath, and it frightens me. But, on the other had-- I can't say that they don't deserve it.
If I spend all day fighting with my co-workers, and do not get any work done... if I ignore my customers, if I act irresponsible with the money that is alloted to me in my drawer... I will be fired and replaced. It's just common sense.

The Democrats have held this majority for nearly 4 years...and part of that tenure- They controlled most Governorships in the country, the Executive Branch, and both houses in Congress. They have done nothing but widened the gap for Partisanship.

Republicans are not off the hook either, they did the same thing before the Democrats took over.

This masquerade of Republicans in the masque of Independence. Need to heed and caution history. If they take the majority of one of the branches of Congress-- they need to realize they got there the way Obama got there.

If they fail to deliver in what they promise (which I haven't figured out..what is exactly they are promising.) They will be voted out just as others have before.

This failure is going to reflect on Barack Obama. But after the bloodbath, he still has a choice-- he can serve the people or his party. If the people want something done... he needs to deliver; or in 2012, it's going to be a massacre for him.

The worst thing we can do right now is lose faith. We still can achieve great things, because we have a great American spirit in us.

If people would stop and look at history books, they'd see that our country has gone through rough times before.... some much worse than we are now. And every time we went through them, we rose and achieved greater things.

Instead of believing in Barack Obama, I now choose to believe in the American Spirit. It's far greater reputation of succeeding than politicians do.

New Era of Renewable Energy needs to dawn

on Friday, June 18, 2010

Nixon set the goal in 1974..that in 1980 we would be energy independent .

Ford, announced a new goal for energy independence.

Carter, made the concession that 50% of our oil dependence was on foreign countries.

The list can go on... with all the modern Presidents calling for independence on foreign oil sources.

Now 50 days after the BP oil spill, our 44th President has a chance, a real chance to grab the bull by
the horns and declare our energy independence. The address from the oval office on Wednesday, was
piognant as ever, by the President. He indeed, is a real orator. But, the call for a new age of energy
was not as strong as it should have resounded.

It's not enough to say, "We want energy independence" every Modern President has been claming
this for 30 years. It's not enough to say, "We went to the moon, We can create a new age of energy"
It needs to be said once and for all, "Our children cannot afford a future that is ruled by Petrol
and Our enviorment and our future cannot withstand a world ran by big oil corporations."

The truth is simple--Oil is Oil. More drilling is not going to solve the problem, because there is not
an American Oil Market-- There is a World Oil Market. Drilling at home, is not going to solve our
dependence on foreign oil.

The truth is, our path down the dependence on Petrol is leading down a slippery, goopy mess to
hell. It's getting worse, and if the Gulf Oil Spill has taught us anything is that the oil corporations have little
regard to the enviroment or safety or anything that effects our ecosystem.

The age is dawning for a new era in dealing with the way we power our homes, cars, and industries.
We have a chance to turn our economy around, a chance to be free from giving money to those that
hate us. But this can only happen if Barack Obama leads us, gathers up the troops like he did with
his campaign.

"Yes We Can" it was a call that rallied millions and won him the election. 2 years later, Mr. President
we are wanting to do this.

The showdown between big oil and the American people will be one that will not be easy. But anything
that's worth fighting for, is never easy. But the fight needs to happen, and the steps need to be taken
to creating real energy independence. The Republicans will blockade and say, "Our answer is to
Drill baby Drill." but those that see the future on the horizon know the real truth it's time to say goobye
to Petrol and welcome renewable energy for the new era.
