Our duty to 9/11 First Responders

on Thursday, December 16, 2010

Many 9/11 First Responders gave their lives. But several did not, several went on living. Living in illness, many came down with Cancer and some have died. Mike Huckabee said on John Stewart, that a man named Michael died because of complications of cancer. It should be a no brainer that we owe our lives to these brave men. These men gave their lives. I have been really emotional lately, but I busted in tears like I haven't in a long time when I saw these men, plead to Congress for help. This is a country, that hope and freedom lives on. Yet, the Republicans have filibustered a bill that would help first responders.

Let me ask you something, when you think of the political party that is most patriotic, what would come to your mind? It's the Republicans right? I mean, God forbid those damn Muslims would construct a Mosque near ground zero. And, hell we had to go bomb Saddam because of his involvement in 9/11. Give me a freaking break.

This was a real bill that would help these brave men fight the battle that they have had to fight for years. We help our Military-- and those Congresmen have top of the line Health Insurance. These men, made the ultimate sacrifice, they were the first ones to lay down their lives for our country. And what do we give them? Well, they have been fired because of their medical bills, their health insurance has capped out, and they have been left to die.

Despite how you feel about the Health Care Bill, surely you can agree that these men deserve Health benefits more than any American citizen, right now.

But apparently, it's not that important to the Republicans.

It's more important, to get time off-- before they can finish business. After all, why should they work-- they can build up their corporate land after January anyway. It's more and more evident, that even though I am super pissed at the Democratic Party right now. I really hate the Republican party. I don't see how they sleep at night, knowing how wrong they are with History, People and Society.

So as you go home for the holidays- Mr. Mitch Mcconell and John Bohener, who show no restraint for emotion for your fellow Senators that are retiring, or your precious agenda in fighting for the American dream. Find it within your hearts, to shed a little tear, one little tear for the 9/11 First Responders. And realize that many of them, this may be their last Christmas and those that have been lost- are all thanks to you. May God, be with you.

God Bless you and God Bless America,

David Huckabee
